Mooi boek waarin Mark Boyle een jaar van zijn leven beschrijft. Een jaar waarin hij probeert met zo min mogelijk moderne technologie te leven en te leven van zijn eigen stukje land in Ierland. Dit is geen boek die je tips geeft over hoe je zelf op deze manier kan gaan leven, ook al zijn er zeker ideeën te halen uit zijn verhalen. Dit boek beschrijft zijn ervaringen, het dagelijkse leven en zijn ideeën over de moderne samenleving. Een heel mooi boek, een die ik zelf zeker nog wel eens opnieuw zal lezen.
