The koala is one of the cuddliest animals. It is a poached mammal that looks like a bear but in reality is not a bear at all as many people believe it to be. It is related to kangaroo because of the pouch that it has that is used by a female koala to carol the koala cub in it for around six months after it takes birth. There are around 8ooo koalas in the wild but their population has been decreasing at a rapid rate. The natural habitat of a koala is the eucalyptus woodlands but due to their destruction the koala is on the verge of entering into the list of endangered species. It is herbivorous marsupial with wombats as its closest living relatives. The koala bear, despite not being a bear is still called one because of its resemblance to a cute and cuddly teddy bear. It is well suited to living on a tree and has a dense fur that acts as a cushion against the hard tree branches. Koala is a master in balancing itself despite its heavy weight. The koala can only live in one place in the world, Australia. It eats eucalyptus leaves and so many that it almost smell like them. It sleeps for 19 hours a day and hops from tree to tree for the leaves. This extremely appealing and charming animal is a delight to observe.
