A Thick Slab of Poppy Seed Bread provides a poetic peek into my soul. My purposes for writing are: 1) to express and emote, 2) to foster fun and freedom, and 3) to encourage hope and genuine happiness. I began saving my poetry during my teens and continue writing, rewriting, and deleting to this day. My poems discuss themes such as motherhood, spirituality, freedom vs. bondage, hope vs. depression, natural phenomena like light and leaves, as well as "The Plan." Various styles and devices are utilized, including alliteration, acrostics, and ghazals. Some of these poems appeal to practical people; others appeal to a quirky, thirsty humanity.
