Badlands

Here, the interweaving of perspectives -a feature of his approach to the botanic world- takes on the metaphysical abandon of the surroundings and goes from panoramic views to zoomed-in emblematic details that turn into abstractions. The photo and engraving sequences are interspersed with an essay by Juan Manuel Bonet, who places Hendrix's career within the tradition of great artist travellers. The book also includes a story by Javier Barreiro Cavestany, in which the writer presents a narrative dialogue with the prospects he is inspired by. Lastly, a long conversation with the artist examines the different stages of his work, which is thus placed within the realm of landscaping history and the relationship between art and science.
