James Morrison
James is geboren in Rugby, Engeland. Zijn jeugd was niet makkelijk: zijn vader verliet het gezin toen hij nog heel jong was en liet zijn moeder achter met schulden en de zorg voor drie kinderen. Van jongs af aan was James dol op muziek, hij luisterde naar de platen collectie van zijn moeder, die varieerde van Pink Floyd en Van Morrison tot Stevie Wonder en Michael Jackson. Wanneer zijn oom hem een blues riff op de gitaar leert spelen is James verkocht, vanaf dat moment is gitaar spelen het enige waar hij aan kan denken. Op zijn 15e verhuist James naar Porth (de zoveelste verhuizing in een paar jaar tijd) waar hij voor zijn nieuwe vrienden gitaar speelt op het strand. Het enthousiasme waarmee zijn muziek wordt ontvangen is een fantastische nieuwe ervaring! James speelt in de school band, in de locale pubs en zelfs een keer voor de locale televisie, maar daar blijft het bij. Er zit niets anders op dan een baantje te zoeken - op zijn 19e wast hij vrachtwagens en maakt 's avonds muziek. Zijn debuut album 'Undiscovered' verschijnt in Juli 2006 via Polydor en komt in Engeland op nummer 1 binnen. Na één week verkoop heeft 'Undiscovered' al de platina status bereikt.
Ook Nederland loopt in snel tempo warm voor de muziek van James: 3 maanden nadat zijn album hier werd uitgebracht mocht James al een Gouden Plaat voor 'Undiscovered' in ontvangst nemen. De schitterende singles 'You Give Me Something' en 'Wonderful World' werden hier binnen no time Megahit op 3FM, Paradeplaat op Radio 2 en Alarmschijf op Radio 538 en de nieuwe single 'The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore' is inmiddels volop te horen. Ook zijn live optredens (het leukste aspect van muzikant zijn volgens James zelf) worden veelbesproken, de uitverkochte concerten die James Morrison gaf in de Melkweg en Heineken Music Hall waren sensationeel.
