The book entails the incidence of cancer cervix, it's clinical features and the utility of cytological investigation in the form of Papanicolaou smears in the diagnosis of the disease.Cytology has been known to play a major role in evaluating patients after radiotherapy. The highlight of the book is the engrossing description of the various cytological changes due to radiation therapy and how these cytological changes which are characterized by four distinct cellular changes namely, vacuolization of the cytoplasm, enlargement of the cell, wrinkling of the nucleus with disarrangement of the chromatin pattern and an increase in the number of nuclei per cell, help in the diagnosis and prognosis of stage of the disease.
