Darkness and Light tells the tale of two people whose paths were fated to cross. Cristian West, a famous artist, has lived the celebrity life of money, fame, and any woman of his choosing yet lacked having a meaningful relationship in his life. Nevertheless, the face of an unforgettable woman haunts his mind, thoughts, and dreams. After tragically losing her parents and her first love, Sage Nayah has lived a solitary existence. However, she feels compelled to return to New York City where her tragic story began. Cristian meanwhile is feverishly working on his masterpiece portrait of a woman with a haunting face. Both are unaware that they are on a collision course with destiny.

The night of the exhibit their eyes lock on one another as the past and present collide. Cristian is stunned to be staring into the face of the woman he thought only existed in his mind and Sage is astonished at the eerie likeness he has to her lost love. From then on neither of their lives will be the same. As Cristian finds himself drawn to this captivating, mysterious beauty, he learns that she has a secret. He also finds that a strange group of people with different eccentricities and personalities surrounds her. In her presence, he begins to understand why he feels so strongly that he knows her and the strong effect she has on him when he begins to delve into her past to unlock the mysteries.

As he begins to uncover her secret he not only begins to question his own past he finds himself in danger when a threat from Sage's past comes to conclude a long held rivalry and jealousy in the group rears it's ugly head causing consequences that forces Sage to make a desperate decision. The ripple effect of her decision is far reaching and changes Sage and Cristian's relationship. Soon after she made a life altering decision, Sage is plagued with guilt that begins to tear away at their relationship while Cristian learns that Sage is withholding another secret. The story concludes with Rafael planning his biggest attack yet aligning himself with surprising allies that will forever change the fates of the star-crossed lovers.
