Antonio Scurati (Napels, 1969) is schrijver, hoogleraar literatuur en columnist. Van het veelgeprezen eerste deel van zijn serie over Benito Mussolini, M. De zoon van de eeuw, zijn in Italië inmiddels meer dan 500.000 exemplaren verkocht. De roman werd in 2019 bekroond met de Premio Strega, de voornaamste literaire prijs in Italië.
