The Olfactory Pyramid
Each Millefiori fragrance is created by combining multi-faceted essences with different intensity and durability properties. To depict the sensations felt by the fragrance, so-called olfactory pyramids are used. The scents contained in each fragrance composition are divided into three groups according to their degree of evaporation and lifespan:

The top notes are light scents with a short life span. They give the first olfactory impression of the fragrance and fade away after a few minutes.

The heart notes represent the actual theme of the fragrance and determine the expression of its fullness and lingering quality. Compared to the top notes, their scent effect is stronger and their lifespan is several hours.

The base notes express the personality of the fragrance and give its structure warmth and stability. They are long-lasting and not perceptible until a few days later.
