Misty Water

A light breeze blows over the sea and the sun is burning brightly overhead. Mont draws in a breath, drinking it in deep. It's a beautiful day, where everything is so perfect that is hard to believe anything can go wrong. A day that makes it hard to believe there can be a storm brewing to the southeast, just out of sight. The type of day that every man, woman and child should live for. Mont sighed; he had earned it. The price had been high but he had earned it, and with every passing beauteous moment aboard his ship there was an undertone of what he knew he had walked away from. He had no debt to Marcius, nor to Maron, his elven companion, not even to King Gary. Then how was it that even knowing this his conscious still troubled him? Should he have gone to aid them in their war?
