David Mckee
De Britse schrijver en tekenaar David McKee (1935-2022) werd geboren in Devon. Na zijn opleiding aan Plymouth Art College maakte hij cartoons voor kranten. Van jongs af aan was Davids grootste hobby verhalen vertellen en zijn eerste boek uit 1964 is gebaseerd op een van die verhalen. Hij verwierf wereldwijd bekendheid met Elmer, de kleurtjesolifant, die al 35 jaar bestaat.
