Na haar boek "Een zomer met het kleine volkje" beschrijft Tanis Helliwell in "A pelgrimage with the Leprechauns" hoe een spirituele rondreis door Ierland vanaf dag 1 een nachtmerrie lijkt te worden. De reis die ze zo zorgvuldig heeft uitgestippeld wordt volkomen overruled door een onwrikbaar driemanschap van de chauffeur, de regelneef van de reisorganisatie en de reisbegeleider, die alleen in theorie deskundige blijkt te zijn op het gebied van elementwezens.
De leprechaun, bekend uit haar eerste boek leert zo 'the humans' wat men in Ierland onder de 'craig' verstaat, iets wat je letterlijk 'toevalt' en waarvan je als mens kunt leren. Je eraan overgeven en lachen is de beste manier om ermee om te gaan.
Een leerzaam, met veel humor geschreven boek over een uiterlijke en tegelijkertijd innerlijke reis. Ook in het Engels heel toegankelijk geschreven.
