Robyn Young

The publishing success of author Robyn Young has been phenomenal. Four years ago she was a completely unknown writer who had spent years trying unsuccessfully to get published.

Then in 2006 her debut novel Brethren was picked up by Hodder. It became the UK's bestselling hardcover debut of that year with both the paperback and hardback editions going straight into the top ten bestseller lists.

In 2007, Waterstone's named her one of their top 25 authors of the future and the hardback edition of her second book, Crusade, spent five weeks in the top ten. Both the hardback and paperback versions of the subsequent book in the series, Requiem, were Sunday Times Bestsellers.

Sales for historical fiction have seen a dramatic increase over the last few years and Robyn's books are a major part of that. The Brethren trilogy has now sold over 800,000 copies in the UK alone and has been translated into 19 different languages.

Robyn Young was born in Oxford and grew up in the Midlands and Devon. She has worked as a festival organizer, a music promoter, an investment advisor and as a teacher of creative writing. She has a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Sussex and lives in Brighton.

Samenvatting

THE CRUSADES ARE OVER AND EUROPE IS IN CHAOS. After years fighting in the desert sun - and secretly working for peace with the Brethren - Will Campbell returns to find his Scottish homeland under attack by his enemy, King Edward I. Betrayed by those he has served since boyhood, torn apart watching his daughter plunge into a dangerous affair, Will must now forge his own path to peace - even if it leads through another battlefield. But a new threat is rising in France, where a warrior king will stop at nothing to achieve his twisted ambitions. The fight for the Holy Land is over. But the Temple's last battle has just begun.
