    Elif safak is one hell of a writer. She makes you feel like you are living during the ottoman empire. I loved the subjects which she writes about: sufism, feminism and istanbul. Also mimar sinan is getting some recognition which he REALLY deserves he built so many beautiful buildings, mosques, shrines and bridges. It also shows what kind of person he was and i loved it! I loved the book and would recommend it!

    Een heel mooi verhaal, goed beschrijvend en gedetaileerd geschreven, interessante hoofdpersonen en ik ben veel over Istanbul en de architect mimar sinan gaan opzoeken; heb erg veel geleerd.
