More than 4/5 of the earth's surface consists of water. The ocean form the largest part, followed by lakes and rivers. The climate of the earth and life upon it are largely determined by the oceans. This is true both for the world above and under water, such as the coral reefs and life at the bottom of the sea. Because of the warming of the earth complete ecosystems are in danger of disappearing forever. Only 20% off all coral reefs on earth are currently still healthy; the rest are ill or have already disappeared.
Everybody should understand that this cannot go on. Fortunately there are many organizations that fight for the environment and nature, but lot of water has to be carries to the sea before we can speak of a lasting success.
