Hierbij schroomt auteur Randall Sullivan (Washington Post, Rolling Stone magazine) zich niet om zijn eigen bedenkingen bij een aantal theorieën te zetten. Interessant dat History Channel dit toe heeft gestaan, omdat sommige personen die (in eerdere seizoenen) hun soms fantasievolle ideeën hebben gepresenteerd, als ongeloofwaardig worden afgestempeld.
En waar de serie soms van de hak op de tak springt, niet alleen in theorieën, maar ook in aanpak, neemt het boek de tijd om alles op een duidelijke manier te verwoorden.
