Dennis Lehane

Dennis Lehane werd in 1965 in Boston geboren. Veel van zijn romans spelen zich in deze stad af. In 1994 verscheen zijn debuut Slapende honden waarmee hij meteen succes had. In deze thriller maken we kennis met het beroemde duo Angie Gennaro en Patrick Kenzie, die in latere boeken terugkomen.Lehane schreef in totaal tien thrillers, waarvan Nachtleven de meest recente is. Hij is vooral bekend van de bestsellers Gone Baby Gone, Mystic River en Shutter Island. Alle drie werden ze succesvol verfilmd: Mystic River in 2003, geregisseerd door Clint Eastwood. Hoofdrolspelers Sean Penn en Tim Robbins ontvingen een Oscar voor hun vertolkingen. In 2007 kwam Gone Baby Gone in de bioscoop, geregisseerd door Ben Affleck en in 2010 Shutter Island. Ook van Nachtleven zijn de filmrechten verkocht, aan het productiebedrijf van Leonardo DiCaprio. In het najaar van 2014 draait de verfilming van Het loket, The Drop, in de bioscoop.

Samenvatting
