Tessa Afshar
Tessa Afshar is de auteur van o.a. 'De dief van Korinte' en 'Engelenbrood'. Ze is geboren in Iran en groeide daar op als moslima. Op haar veertiende ging ze naar een Engelse meisjesschool in Amerika. Toen ze haar opleiding aan deze school had afgerond, vestigde ze zich definitief in de Verenigde Staten. Haar leven kreeg een andere wending toen ze christen werd. Ze ging theologie studeren aan de Universiteit van Yale en maakte daar deel uit van het evangelisch genootschap. Tegenwoordig schrijft ze romans en is ze actief als kerkelijk werker in een gemeente in New England.
