Aeham Ahmad
Aeham Ahmad (1988) is een Palestijns-Syrische pianist die opgroeide in vluchtelingenkamp Yarmouk. Hij studeerde muziekpedagogie in Homs en werkte als muziekleraar. In 2015 werd hij wereldberoemd door piano-uitvoeringen midden tussen de puinhopen van Yarmouk. Video’s daarvan gingen via YouTube de hele wereld over. Eind 2015 vluchtte Ahmad naar Duitsland. Daar ontving hij de eerste Beethovenprijs voor mensenrechten, vrede en integratie. Tegenwoordig woont hij met zijn gezin in Wiesbaden, en hij geeft concerten in heel Europa.
