Beatles worden opgenomen: John Lennon is zelfs een groot fan van Williams) wekken de indruk
dat Larry een serieuze concurrent is voor labelgenoot Little Richard. Zijn volgende Specialty-singles,
waaronder het van The Stones bekende 'She Said Yeah' doen echter minder. Nadien heeft Larry
Williams ook bij talloze andere labels, als Chess, Mercury en Okeh, geen succes meer. Er gaan
geruchten dat zijn oude vriend Johnny 'Guitar' Watson, met wie hij in de jaren zestig een tijd
samenspeelt, hem een contract heeft bezorgd bij Djm, de platenmaatschappij waar Watson sinds
