"Robert Fabbri (Genève, 22 juni 1961) is een Zwitserse auteur van historische thrillers, bekend van onder meer de Vespasianus-serie. Fabbri werd geboren in Genève maar verhuisde op jonge leeftijd naar West Sussex in Engeland. Hij studeerde er achtereenvolgens aan de kostschool Christ's Hospital, Horsham en de universiteit van Londen.

Boek is uitermate spannend, historisch van een hoog gehalte en veel actie. ik heb de andere delen meteen gekocht, waaronder 1 in Nederlandse vertaling om te kijken hoe de vertaling. Game of thrones, maar dan wervelender.
