Geschreven bij Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot
This is probably the best 'popular' book on the market currently about the Thoth tarot; unfortunately, in my opinion, it is still not the ultimate book.
(that would be, of course, Crowley's own book - but that can be rather dense at times, and theoretical more than practical)
Information on the background of the deck and the majors is great, but on the minors it is, unfortunately, very sparse.
Also, like most other works on the Thoth tarot (at least in the English market, the German books can be a bit more practical) it is mostly about theory and does not go into great detail about how to actually read the cards.
Which makes sense, I guess, because Crowley himself was, at least at certain times, opposed to using the cards for divination.
Still, it would be nice if at some point a book would really go into about how to actually use these gorgeous cards in a practical manner.
On the whole, the tone is light and humorous; I am a great fan of Mr Duquette's writing but it shines more in other books (like his Chicken Qabala and books about magick).Vond je dit een nuttige review?30
