I am Merek, second born of the famed wizard Merlin and sister to the moon goddess Serenade. Mine and my sister’s tale begins again in the world of men. Newly banished from the realm of magic we continue the search for Serenades lost child through war ravaged England. We find new hope and refuge from the bloody fields of our homeland in the house of De varai with the wizard V in the forest of France. He aids us in our quest, taking my sister to the depths of the ocean in search of Elza and her mirror of truth. The ties that bind us become divided by the hand of my Christian God and his adversary the devil. Within the twisted web of fate I am blessed and cursed by heaven and hell. Through Satan’s black kiss and Rapheal’s light touch I am transformed into a new creature: A Sanguine. Where I once walked with angels I now must walk among the damned and take my place in their dark world as a messiah of hope bringing light and love back into their world through the power of my blood. Serenade follows her path to destiny by reclaiming her magical roots with her aunt, the fire goddess Pélé. She learns to harness the power of her mother’s icon and takes her role as moon goddess over the druids. Our bond is renewed when she uses her alliance with Alexander, the ancient Macedonian warrior who is now king of the werewolves to rescue me from the clutches of the vampire prince Ambrose. It is at the death bed of our father that he warns us of the world to come and begs us to remain strong in one another lest the tides of time pull us down.
