Ashlee Vance
Ashlee is geboren in Zuid-Afrika maar groeide op in Houston, Texas, waar hij studeerde aan de St. John’s School.
Naast de biografie van Elon Musk heeft Ashlee columns geschreven voor The Register van 2003 tot 2008. In 2008 maakte Vance de overstap naar de New York Times om in 2011 verder te gaan bij Bloomberg BusinessWeek. In zijn columns heeft Ashlee Vance verslag gedaan van grote bedrijven zoals IBM, HP, Intel en Dell. Daarnaast is hij uitermate geïnteresseerd in een wijd spectrum aan technologische vernieuwingen, waaronder robots, Segway en de R programmeertaal.
Naast de biografie heeft Vance ook over de geschiedenis van Silicon Valley geschreven in zijn boek Geek Sillicon Valley dat in 2007 verscheen.
Voor zijn boek over Elon Musk wist Vance meerdere interviews te strikken met Elon, maar ook met de mensen die dicht bij Musk staan.
