Samenvatting

People have said:"I WISH I HAD THIS BOOK WHEN I WAS LEARNING.""The author does a great job of breaking down the basics of improvisation and makes them easy to understand and to use.""GREAT BOOK"As a bonus, you can link to a secret video page that links from the last page of the book. This is an instruction manual on how to improvise on guitar so that it sounds like you know what you are doing. Each chapter covers a technique that after reading should take about seven minutes to learn. It may take some extra practice to become fluid in performance. This is not jazz guitar improvisation, nor is it lead guitar improvisation, but more about guitar solo improvisation, not dependent on other musicians. This manual gives you:• The "Magic Chord" so you can play on almost any fret depending on how you use it.• Faking a New Age Classical sound.• Blues guitar improvisation that centers on inflection.• Rock guitar improvisation made popular by Marshall Tucker and that has recently been re-popularized by Taylor Swift.• Guitar Fingerboard Images• Blues Scale Diagrams• Finger Plucking On Strings• Picking Instruction• Chord Ideas• Melodic Scale Ideas• Major, Minor and Modal ConceptsIf you are interested in picking up a guitar and always frustrated with not being able to play anything, this instruction will show you easy ways to sound good and furthermore develop a way to improvise a "sound".There is no requirement to read notes or tabs. The only requirement is that you know enough to place your fingers on frets without clunking the adjacent strings and to be able to pluck and pick strings cleanly.A review from the UK Says:5.0 out of 5 stars pleasant surprise, 2 Aug 2013ByJay - See all my reviewsAmazon Verified Purchase(What is this?)This review is from: Guitar Improvisation In 7 Minutes (How To Improvise On Guitar And Sound like You Know What You Are Doing) (Kindle Edition)Improve is by definition random, so it is something that can't really be 'taught' as such, it is something that you have to learn for yourself. So how do you learn to improvise? In the introduction, the author uses the modelling clay analogy, which is very apt. Any artist needs material and a concept to create. This is not an advanced improv book which gives you a million scales and licks, it is more aimed at someone learning to improvise, giving you a starting point and a direction to build from, and that's the best way to begin, take a simple idea and build.I gave it 5 stars because it has made me stop shredding scales up and down the neck and take a step back to doing the stuff that I neglect. Playing fast all over the fretboard is great fun, but sometimes it becomes stale and repetitive. That's the rut I felt I was in. After reading this book I will be playing with the concepts for quite some time to come :-) it gave me some new ideas, and that is what the author set out to do.
