Het type netwerk geeft aan welke en hoeveel banden de wifi verbinding heeft. Single-band biedt enkel wifi op de 2.4 GHz frequentieband en komt qua snelheid niet uit boven de 600 à 800 Mbps. Dual-band biedt wifi op zowel de 2.4 als de 5.0 GHz frequentieband. Op het 5 GHz netwerk kan je veel hogere snelheden halen en het netwerk minder last van storing dan het 2.4 GHz netwerk omdat er veel minder apparaten op die frequentie uitzenden. Tri-band biedt 1x 2.4 GHz en 2 x 5.0 GHz en kan onderscheid maken tussen de maximale snelheden van apparaten en ze de juiste band toewijzen. -

Een Fast Ethernet aansluiting heeft een maximale bedrade snelheid van 100 Mbps. Deze snelheid is geschikt voor lichte netwerkactiveiten, zoals emails checken, internetten etc. Een Gigabit aansluiting heeft een maximale bedrade snelheid van 1000 Mbps en is geschikt voor hoge doorvoersnelheden. Dit is belangrijk voor streamen (denk aan een NAS) of als je een snel internetabonnement hebt.

MSR20-1X routers are full-featured, economical routers designed for converged wired and wireless WAN and LAN environments at small remote branch offices and small to medium-sized businesses. HP MSR20-1x series routers deliver high-performance integrated routing, switching, security, wireless, and voice services while reducing complexity, simplifying management, and increasing control. These routers enable an agile and flexible network infrastructure that can quickly adapt to changing business requirements while delivering integrated services on a single, easy-to-manage platform.
