History of the Russian Church. The five volumes. Volume 3. Significant known Filaret received major work "The History of the Russian Church" (driven to 1826), released in five editions in Riga and Moscow in 1847-1848 and went through many editions. The author proposed a fundamentally new periodization of Russian church history, dividing it into five periods: from the beginning of Christianity in Russia before the Mongol invasion (988-1237); from the invasion of the Mongols to the Russian division of the Archdiocese (1237-1410); the division of the Archdiocese to the establishment of the patriarchate (1410-1588); Patriarchate period (1589-1720); synodal Office (1721-1826).
