And fifteen years after andmore, I was answered in ghostly understanding.Saying thus: · \\:Vouldst thou learn thy Lord'smeaning in this thing? Learn it well: Love wasHis meaning. Who showed it thee? Love. Whatshowed He thee? Love. Wherefore showed itHe? For love. Hold thee therein and thoushalt learn and know more in the same. Butthou shalt never know nor learn therein otherthing without end.' Thus was I learned that Lovewas our Lord's meaning.
