Dick Bruna

Dick Bruna (1927 - 2017) is een Nederlandse kunstenaar die wereldwijd bekend is, bij jong en oud, vooral door nijntje. Bruna begon met tekenen in 1940 en illustreerde onder andere de boeken uit de Zwarte Beertjes-serie. In zijn latere carriere maakte Bruna een groot aantal prentenboeken en werd hij geestelijk vader van onder meer Eegje Egel, Lotje, Gobe, het hondje Snuffie, Betje Big, de Beertjes Boris en Barbara en natuurlijk nijntje. Het oeuvre van Dick Bruna kenmerkt zich door een eenvoudige en directe tekenstijl. Dick Bruna publiceerde 120 prentenboeken. Naast prentenboeken, ontwierp Bruna ook nog eens meer dan tweeduizend boekomslagen, ruim honderd affiches en tientallen briefkaarten en prenten. De Bruna-collectie van het Centraal Museum bestaat uit meer dan 1.200 werken en groeit nog steeds. Het Centraal Museum heeft de collectie in langdurig bruikleen. Miffy is so loveable! When Mother and Father tell Miffy she's going to have a new brother or sister, she is filled with joy. She makes a few presents for the baby. When Baby Bunny is born, Miffy is speechless - she didn't realise the baby would be so tiny. Miffy is thrilled when she gets the chance to hold it.The next day she takes some cakes in to her class to celebrate.

Short story, simple images, common animals and easy to understand for very small children, it is the perfect book to ‘prep’ your kids for a new sibling on the way. We have probably read it at least 20 times in the past week! My boys love it!
