Tales from the Officers' Mess The Regiment Abroad

Newly promoted Captains, Troy Nathan Devilliers and Chumley Warner are back in action. This time the Regiment is sent to Afghanistan, and the Captains are swiftly immersed into day-to-day army life in a warzone, and the Officers' Mess, at their new base. To-ez Daly is an ambitious newspaper reporter and when an opportunity for a war correspondent position with her newspaper comes up she jumps at it. In no time she is dropped into the midst of hectic, exciting, and sometimes dangerous Regimental life. Interspersed with serious Army procedures and light-hearted humour, we follow To-ez as she reports regularly from her secondment, and as she interacts with many colourful characters, including Messrs Chumley and Devilliers, one of who's life is never going to be the same again. The Author's love of the Army, procedure, regimentation and larger than life characters shines through these pages, as well as his genuine wish for a quick end and lasting peace to a war in a much-maligned country.
