Dit boekje was een bijzonder aardige verrassing. Het gaat over de organisatie van motoriek, gevoel, ruimte en meer in je lichaam. Daarbij wordt gebruik gemaakt van het begrip “bodymap” , delen van je lichaam worden gerepresenteerd in je brein. Hoe dat in zijn werk gaat wordt soepel beschreven. Onderkoelde humor is nooit ver weg.
Je krijgt bewondering voor de subtiliteit van het menselijk organisme (en andere organismen). Uitgebreid wordt ingegaan hoe het de basis is voor interactie tussen mensen en de omgeving. Heel interessant om een kort stukje aan te treffen over de plaats van het bewustzijn.
Wetenschap waarschijnlijk tot medio 2006 is de basis (het copyright van het boek is uit 2007). Achteraf gezien kan het ook worden opgevat als één lang pleidooi voor wetenschap. Het verbaast dan ook niet dat de schrijvers derde en vierde generatie wetenschapsauteurs zijn.
