In this debut collection, Christopher Conroy shares a chronicle of consciousness from inside a generation and a city under the intense pressure of rapid change. Topics range from the deeply personal to vivid and chaotic panoramas of city landscapes, gentrification, industry, and culture using 13 selections of free verse.In vignettes equally inspired by hip hop as they are by Yeats, Conroy attempts to strip down the experiences of the places he's called home and aspects of his own identity to the bare core of sense and sanity. Written between 2008 and 2013, The Book of Reasons Why seeks to describe how a millennial mind and modern urban America struggle for meaning in tandem.
