The Escape Diary A Novel

This is the story of Tameka Washington, a young teenage girl that has been the victim of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather. Suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and dissociative states, Tameka manages to fight off reoccurring thoughts of suicide as the relentless abuse persist, until one fateful night when the years of abuse comes to a tragic end.This novel offers an examination into the effects of child sexual abuse on a young girl and how it affected her behavior. The protagonist is forced to overcome various obstacles, including drug abuse, promiscuity, and the prison industrial complex. Tameka, however, later finds solace when she befriends a hip-hop artist that later becomes her love interest.
