De auteur schrijft als een kind van 6. Onsamenhangend, vol herhalingen. Het is duidelijk dat er geen editor aan te pas is gekomen. Egyptische begrippen worden niet uitgelegd. De Syrische stad Homs heet hier Horns. Elke keer als de Engelsman Baring wordt genoemd staat er achter (Lord Cromer). Geen enkele chronologische volgorde. Het is een aanfluiting dat dit boek ooit uitgebracht is.
