Theory and artfulness of infantry. 1647

The basis of the published in 1647 by decree of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich first Russian military regulations troops "new order" is adapted to modern realities of the Moscow State free translation from German famous work by Johann Jakob von Wallhausen Kriegskunst zu Fuss. Instructions Wallhausen were based on the rules of good while Dutch military school. The author explains in detail the principles of training soldiers in the company and regimental ranks - rules for the construction and rebuilding of rows and ranks, receptions possession musket and pike, firing; gave recommendations on the organization of guard duty, explained the basic requirements for "camp structure" and of a temporary camp, the main methods of maintaining discipline and order in the army, and so on. f. Special attention is paid to obtain reliable information about the enemy and the need for action in time of war . The publication was printed at the time the huge circulation of 1,200 copies, however, did not enjoy great popularity. It sold only 134 copies, and the rest transferred to the Order of the Secret Affairs. The subsequent fate is unknown. In 1904, the book was reissued care of Nicholas General Staff Academy "bibliophilic circulation" in 200 copies. Editors, AZ Myshlaevsky and IV Parijskij retained the original spelling and punctuation, replacing only the church-Slavic font of the modern civil.
