Thoroughly captivating novel about two psychiatric complaints, schizofrenia and the lesser known condition of Münchhausen-by-proxy occuring in a privileged setting. It retells the disappearance of 12-year old Josephine through the eyes of her father Victor, a psychiatrist. It happened while visiting a doctor specialized in allergies. What follows is Victor's continued, frenzied search for clarity and release. Is she dead or still alive?
The plot of this sometimes scary book is as well engineered as an Audi car: it moves, accelerates and brakes fantastically in 60 short chapters full of cliffhangers. Especially when mysterious Anna appears... After much confusion and distress, the ending is a total surprise. Sleep-depriving mystery, warmly recommended.
