Samenvatting
INTRODUCTIONThe intimidating power of the enemies of the people of God knows no bound, the evil one is always ready to fight to the last using all kinds of strategies to ensure many men and women, families and even nations are kept far away from ever stepping into their God given purpose and fulfilling them.Today our nations have fallen victim to these intimidating powers, our families, children, young and old men and women, everyone that desires to walk according to the Lords expectations and standards have come under these evil attacks in different forms. Our marriages and other cherished values are being corrupted on a daily basis and we cannot afford to fold our hands and give the enemy the freedom to operate as he likes, we cant let him have his way and go unchecked, there must be resistance, the people of God must rise to the occasion to preserve the testimony of God in this generation. There is time for everything as we know and I perceive in my spirit that the time is ripe for us to rise and live the life Jesus came to give us, a life to the full, not the one the enemy struggles to place upon us on a daily basis, a life full of fear, worries and anxieties, characterised by evolving survival strategies just to go by in a world our Father created with everything in abundance for us to utilise while doing the good works He has apportioned for us individually and collectively. It is time for us to arise and halt the giants that are trampling our God given values in every sphere of life today, a time for the people of God to step into their God given destinies and fulfil the very purpose for which they were created, a season for us to seek godly counsel and know what to do while letting God Himself to have the final say concerning our everyday activities. We are going to break this into three parts:PART A: We will use Davids encounter with Goliath in the Valley of Elah as recorded in 1 Samuel 17 to decode as much strategies as possible that we can deploy to bring down the modern day giants in operation today. The God who used David to accomplish that victory for Israel on that day is the same one we serve today and I believe He will use us in His way and time to fulfil His purpose in our days in Jesus name.PART B: The Valley of Eshcol as recorded in Numbers 13 marked a turning point in the life of the children of Israel on their way to the land God promised their father Abraham. A land flowing with milk and honey which God had preserved for them for over four hundred years became a source of punishment for them because they did not believe that God could deliver on His promise. They doubted God and turned back just at the point of entry because ten of the spies gave a negative report. For us to step into Gods purpose there are myriads of lessons to learn from their experience, for forty days the twelve spies went deep into the enemies territory, they even stopped at Eshcol and brought some fruits to show Moses and the entire congregation of Israel as a testimony to the fruitfulness of the land, but the enemy crept into the hearts of ten of them and rubbished their report, he tore into their hearts and planted seeds of unbelief and they completely messed up their assignment. Our desire brethren is to fulfil our God given purpose and we will spend time to learn from their mistakes, so as to avoid a repeat in our days and I believe God will help us that none of us will turn back at the critical moment in Jesus name.PART C: The Valley of Gerar as recorded in Genesis 26 is one of my favourites. We will use this Valley to show that even when we have defeated the giant and moved towards fulfilling our purpose we need to stay close to God and let Him have the final say in all our endeavours.Isaac experienced a devastating famine in the land of promise and decided to run away to Egypt, but God intercepted him in Gerar and asked him to remain there for a while
