Samenvatting

Writing Your Destiny offers a heart-centered approach to using your words to create change in your personal world as well as the bigger world. Through an innovative ten-step process, the book helps you to write or rewrite your destiny through the unique perspective of looking at the spirals of destiny in your life and your work. A short, but powerful book, Writing Your Destiny can radically transform your life. Like many classic transformational books, such as the Artist's Way and Zen and the Art of Living, the book takes readers on a spiritual journey as well as providing practical tools to create a richer, more meaningful life. Through prompts and guided visualizations, Writing Your Destiny also can serve as an organized repository of your deepest values, passions and dreams that you can refer back to for years. The journal is ideal for writers who want to empower their words with spirit and purpose. It’s also an effective tool for healers, artists, coaches, environmentalists, enlightened entrepreneurs, and anyone who wants to create treasures for themselves and their clients that last beyond our life time. The Writing Your Destiny books are an outgrowth of Karen Wan's philosophy that the world needs heart-centered transformation as the foundation for our lives and businesses. The book incorporates Wan’s experience as a transformational program director, coach and writer. She has helped hundreds of companies and individuals to transform their lives quickly and wisely. Her first experience as a transformational leader came in her twenties, when she was selected by IBM to expedite the qualification of a new product line in Sindelfingen, Germany, near Stuttgart. This was in 1989, the first time that IBM developed a product in a country outside of the U.S. with record speed. A few years later after completing IBM’s rigorous marketing training program and working as a systems engineer, she left to follow her love of writing. Wan went on to create award-winning marketing copy for many types of businesses, and was later a marketing director for a small software company. Her own radical transformation came when she became the Sustainability Director for a non-profit, the Chicago Manufacturing Center. While in this position, she created a public-private, green business program for the City of Chicago called the Waste to Profit Network, which won local and national awards for its ability to divert waste from landfills, create economic value for companies, reduce greenhouse gases, and create jobs. In her current work as a coach and writer, she continues to help individuals and companies to become more sustainable, more soulfully grounded, and gain meaningful recognition for the efforts of their work.
