Welcome to Keystone, a southern California town that looks just like any other. However, hidden beneath the little shops on the promenade, the quaint houses of the town citizens, and the vast mountains where the rich have secluded themselves is a well of secrets and soap-opera drama mixed in with the typical problems of everyday life. Here’s what to expect from the first novel:You will meet Dennis Lawrence, the town mayor, and his family, which includes his wife and eight children who are all having one problem or another as the new school year begins. Oldest daughter Keri Ann is facing the challenge of teaching her school-day rival, Sapphire Riches’, son, Gerard. But what this student really has in store for her will top anything that his vicious mother could possibly threaten her with. Meanwhile, Jody, Darrin, and Allison deal with issues in the love department. Jody must figure out how to gently let down her boss’s son, who has been pining for her since his mother first forced them to go out on a date together, and Darrin struggles to find time to spend with his girlfriend, Aubrey, while juggling work and freshman year at college. Tomboy Allison is a little wary when a classmate of the opposite gender begins to want to hang around her and watch her all of the time. Could this be proof that even young children can fall in love? Caterina and Kaitlin, the two teen daughters, are both facing a very similar problem: how to fit in at school. But while Kaitlin is downright laughed at by Missy Featherspoon, Caterina isn’t quite sure where she stands. Cahuenga Riches has decided to give her a chance at making the popular group, but at what cost? Finally, youngest daughter Marisa and her friends are forced to deal with a school bully, who eventually goes too far, while teenage son Johnny stands by and watches all of the action. When his parents decide to go out of town on a business trip, Johnny gets in on the action with a party that gets too wild and ends up with his own plate of trouble. As you have probably already noticed, there is an opposing side to the Lawrence family. They are the Riches family of Keystone and their in-laws, the Featherspoons.
