Jessie Stewart Icebreaking / La debacle

Paired with works by Franklin Carmichael, Alan C. Collier, and Claude Picher that highlight industrial activities such as mining and shipping, works by percussionist and visual artist Jessie Stewart consider the global ramifications of pollution and emphasize renewable resources. With Glacialis (2010-19), a video of Stewart using percussive instruments made of ice, the artist also looks at melting glaciers and polar ice caps in northern regions, captured by artists such as Lawren S.
