Barbara Kingsolver

Barbara Kingsolver (1955) is schrijver, essayist en dichter. Haar werk is in meer dan dertig talen vertaald en vele malen bekroond. De gifhouten bijbel (1998) werd genomineerd voor de Pulitzer Prize en in 2000 ontving Kingsolver de National Humanities Medal, de hoogste onderscheiding in de VS voor haar verdiensten voor de kunsten. Voor haar recentste roman Demon Copperhead ontving ze de Pulitzer Prize en de Women’s Prize for Fiction 2023. Writer’s Digest riep haar uit tot een van de belangrijkste schrijvers van de twintigste eeuw. Kingsolver woont op een boerderij in het zuiden van de Appalachen.
