    Geschreven bij High Financier

    LS! Geschreven in perfect Cambridge-Engels, is het vooral de schrijfstijl van Niall Ferguson (de man van Hirsi Ali), die het interessant maakt. Ik heb het net uit en ben best enthousiast over wat ik geleerd heb van deze professor. Na zijn boeken over de Rothschild-familie is dit weer een werk waar heel wat research in is gaan zitten. Hoe bestaat het dat een gevluchte Duitse Jood de Londense City na WWII weer op de kaart heeft gezet? De hoofdpersoon, Siegmund Warburg, las veel literatuur, is dat de sleutel? Het boek belicht de recente financiële geschiedenis van de City en West-Europa. Siegmund Warburg was een gewetensvolle bankier en Ferguson vindt dat de hedendaagse bankiers daar wat van kunnen leren.
