Immanuel Kant
"Immanuel Kant (/kænt/; German: [ɪˈmaːnu̯eːl kant]; 22 April 1724 – 12 February 1804) was a German philosopher who is a central figure in modern philosophy. Kant argued that the human mind creates the structure of human experience, that reason is the source of morality, that aesthetics arises from a faculty of disinterested judgment, that space and time are forms of human sensibility, and that the world as it is ""in-itself"" is independent of humanity's concepts of it. Kant took himself to have effected a ""Copernican revolution"" in philosophy, akin to Copernicus' reversal of the age-old belief that the sun revolves around the earth. Kant's beliefs continue to have a major influence on contemporary philosophy, especially the fields of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political theory, and aesthetics.
En esta obra de 1800, Kant muestra a la lógica como estudio del entendimiento. El entendimiento se define como «el principio o facultad para concebir las reglas en general». Esto quiere decir que el entendimiento tiene y concibe él mismo reglas, se define por tal capacidad y además, el entendimiento es posible gracias a la existencia de estas reglas o leyes que finalmente posibilitan el pensar.
Es decir, las leyes del entendimiento proceden del entendimiento mismo y es esto lo que lo define. En segundo término, tales reglas posibilitan el pensar, que es la capacidad de subsumir, someter bajo estas leyes del entendimiento, las representaciones sensibles.
Es la posibilidad de que representaciones que son particulares, sean entendidas bajo nociones o leyes que son más generales y que son «puestas» por el entendimiento.
