De Noorse schrijver Lars Mytting (1968) is een van de meest succesvolle Scandinavische auteurs. Zijn filosofische mannenboek over houthakken, 'De man en het hout', verscheen in Noorwegen in 2011 en werd een internationale bestseller. In Nederland zijn er meer dan 55.000 exemplaren verkocht.
