    Geschreven bij The Tenth Circle

    'De tiende cirkel' verteld het verhaal over de familie Stone, en enkele verschrikkelijke gebeurtenissen rondom hun dochter Trixie. Het laat je zien hoe alles binnen één nacht kan veranderen, en hoe mensen niet blijken te zien voor wie je ze altijd hield.
    Ik heb het boek in het Engels gelezen, en het leest makkelijk weg. Het boek wordt ondersteund door strips, en op het eind blijkt dat ook daar nog een geheime boodschap in te vinden is. Het verhaal valt regelmatig terug op verwijzingen naar Dante's Hel in de 'Goddelijke Komedie', wat mij ook nieuwsgierig heeft gemaakt naar dat boek.
    Jodi Picoult is een goede vertelster en geeft je stof tot nadenken. Hoe ver zal jij gaan, voor iemand van wie je zielsveel houdt?
