Martine Delfos
Dr. Martine France Delfos studeerde eind jaren zestig klinische psychologie (klinische research) en begin jaren negentig Franse taal- en letterkunde aan de Universiteit van Utrecht. In 1999 promoveerde zij op een psychologisch en letterkundig onderzoek over rouwverwerking bij Franse schrijvers. Zij is opgeleid als wetenschappelijk onderzoeker, klinische psychologie, en is vervolgens in de praktijk gaan werken sinds 1975. Daar heeft ze langdurig ervaring opgedaan in het diagnosticeren en behandelen van kinderen, jeugdigen en volwassenen. Zij is onder andere gespecialiseerd in relatietherapie, autisme en eetstoornissen. Vanaf 1994 verzorgt zij naast haar therapeutische praktijk nascholing aan psychologen, psychiaters, orthopedagogen, artsen, maatschappelijk werkers en groepsleiders. In 1997 richtte zij het PICOWO op: Psychologisch Instituut voor Consultatie, Onderwijs en Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek om haar researchwerk vorm te geven. Vanuit de combinatie van een researchopleiding en een therapeutische praktijkervaring begon ze haar kennis om te zetten in biopsychologische modellen. Daarbij worden verschillende wetenschapsgebieden betrokken met name psychologie, biologie, chemie, en wiskunde. Martine Delfos hecht er belang aan dat er een verbintenis is tussen wetenschap en praktijk. De modellen die zij ontwikkelt, staan in directe relatie tot de maatschappelijke en wetenschappelijke werkelijkheid. Naast haar werkzaamheden als zelfstandig gevestigd therapeut en docent publiceerde zij vanaf 1993 onder andere op het gebied van de psychologie. Verscheidene handboeken en specialistische boeken, onder andere over gespreksvoering met kinderen (Luister je wel naar mij? Gespreksvoering met kinderen tussen vier en twaalf jaar), gespreksvoering met pubers en adolescenten (Ik heb ook wat te vertellen! In 1994 ontving zij de Wilhelminaprijs voor haar eerste vier therapeutische kinderboeken. In deze serie zijn inmiddels twintig boeken verschenen. Vanaf 1997 verscheen een serie van tien kinderboeken over seksuele voorlichting. Omdat wetenschap dynamisch is, wordt in nieuwe drukken van haar boeken steeds het meest recente onderzoek verwerkt. Verschillende van haar boeken zijn in vertaling verschenen (Engels, Duits, Frans, Spaans en Burmees). Van 2008 tot 2012 was zij lector aan de Hogeschool Edith Stein (HES) / Twente School of Education (TSE), met als leeropdracht: Virtuele ontwikkeling van jeugdigen. Sinds 2010 is zij als Visiting Professor verbonden aan de International University of Sarajevo in Bosnië-Herzegovina en vanaf 2011 als Visiting Professor aan de Universidad Central del Ecuador in Quito, Ecuador. In beide landen zet zij zich in bij het opzetten van de autisme hulpverlening.
