Our Love how to release the inner joy and romance in our relationships

This book has been a godsend to me and I a got hold of it just at the right time. It was at a time I was stuck in my relationship.
A relationship where others might say 'it’s ok, and "we are not complaining." But where I thought "This is not good enough for me, there’s no joy, no sparkle, no nothing” and that is what I want.
My husband and I already decided we would find help to work on our relationship. A therapy? A workshop? While we were searching for help, a friendly neighbor gave us this book. I'm not a person that likes reading that much, but I felt immediately that this book was different and had something to offer, so I accepted eagerly.

The book describes and explaines in clear language what Love is all about and how relationships and behavior interact with each other. Not heavy and complicated, but easy to understand and to recognize. It helped to get insight about myself and in my relationship.

Sometimes it was quite confronting to me, but I was ready to embrace the message and able to apply the tools in my life. Of course, in a relationship everything is about communication. Therefore I involved my husband in the process. I read the book, but we agreed on working on the topics together. So I told him about the things I read, I shared insights about myself and about us and asked him to read a chapter every now and then. The exercises and tests in the book are great! We worked on the exercises and tests together. The outcome helped us to understand each other better and accept the others point of view.

After a while things really changed between us. Our understanding and respect towards each other grew gradually. But not in the least, my self respect was also growing.

In a relationship there is always more then one person. Whenever there are hard times or when there is friction, we tend to accuse the other person. While reading the book and applying the tools in it, I learned that it was not only my husband that had to change or make an effort. I learned to be responsible for my own behavior and actions.

While reading this book I learned that my inner emotions and unresolved issues played a tremendous role in our relationship and was part of the problem that ‘we got stuck’. To acknowledge this and discuss this with my husband, helped to clear the air between us and everything fell into place. This book helped us to achieve a better understanding of ourselves, each other and intensified our Love for each other.

A very fascinating, practical book. It gave us exactly what we needed, at the right time!
